This position reports to the Client Services and Platforms Director. The incumbent leads the Microsoft365 (M365) Administrators and Support teams and oversees all technical and management functions, including staff, budget, technical solutions and services, architecture, and project implementation. The incumbent must have a proven and strong background managing large enterprise‑level information technology systems, with substantial experience in the Microsoft Platform and the M365 suite (Email, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Azure, Intune, and other collaboration applications).
The incumbent manages the Microsoft 365 technical administrators and support teams in a 7\x24\x365 critical environment and serves as a strong leader and resource for both IT and business leadership regarding industry trends and usage. The position involves platform ownership and technology oversight, making vital decisions related to enterprise‑level architecture, assessments, planning, design, and implementation of integrated solutions for UCDH. Research, prototype emerging products, and enhance capabilities, often serving as a leadership consultant to meet technical or business needs.
The incumbent is a key member of the IT management team, collaborating closely with the CIO, CTO, CISO, Client Services Director, and other leaders to provide technology solutions. The role keeps up with industry trends and makes formal recommendations for short, mid, and long‑term technology strategy for UCDH, establishes standards, best practices, and strategies to comply with IT security, HIPAA, and other regulations, and works with UC campuses, the UC Office of the President, and internal and external auditors regarding IT issues and events.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field and/or equivalent experience and training
- Extensive experience with information technology, management, and communications
- At least three years of supervisory or managerial experience leading a technical team in an enterprise IT environment
- Eight or more years of experience with Microsoft and Microsoft365 products in an enterprise environment, focusing on support functions such as Microsoft Windows Administration, Microsoft 365 Administration, Email/SMTP Routing, DNS Routing Architecture, Active Directory, Intune, Azure, OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, OWA, Email Security/Encryption, Legal Holds, third‑party anti‑spam & malware solutions, DLP, SharePoint architecture, email archiving, device environments, and PowerShell scripting
- Demonstrated enterprise‑level experience or knowledge with Windows OS, Active Directory, virtualization platforms (VMware, Citrix), project management, and the Microsoft Office suite
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a dynamic workplace
- Creative and strategic thinking regarding Microsoft Platforms, technological changes, and future forecasting
- Ability to articulate strategic and tactical vision and inspire the team while maintaining effective management structures and systems
- Experience managing multiple projects or tasks simultaneously and exercising sound judgment
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as MCSE, M365, PMP, Six Sigma, etc.
- Master’s degree in computer science or computer engineering
- Experience with databases, application development, electronic faxing, and mass emailing systems
- Strong analytical and management skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and teaching skills for staff and UC employees
- Commitment to transparency, conflict resolution, and win‑win solutions with a strong moral compass
