Job Summary
This position reports to the Client Services and Platforms Director. The incumbent leads the Microsoft365 (M365) Administrators and Support teams and oversees all technical and management functions, including, but not limited to, staff, budget, technical solutions and services, architecture, managing technology and implementing projects. The incumbent must have a proven and strong background managing large enterprise level information technology systems along with experience managing Microsoft Platform and associated M365 suite of products such as Email, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Azure, Intune and other collaboration applications and systems. The incumbent manages the Microsoft 365 system technical administrators and support teams in a 7 x 24 x 365 critical environment and is a strong leader and resource to both IT and business leadership regarding industry trends and usage.
The position involves platform ownership and technology oversight responsibility. The incumbent makes vital decisions relating to enterprise level architecture, assessments, planning, designing and implementing complete and integrated solutions for UCDH. Work is based on implementing or enhancing the technology to meet UCDH enterprise needs, research and prototype emerging products to enhance or offer new capabilities, and serve as a leadership consultant to meet technical or business needs.
The incumbent is a key member of the IT management team, working closely with the CIO, CTO, CISO, Client Services Director and other IT and non‑IT leaders to provide technology solutions and services. The incumbent keeps up with industry trends and makes formal recommendations for short/mid/long‑term technology strategy for UCDH, establishes, maintains and monitors standards, best practices and strategies to comply with IT security, HIPAA and other compliance regulations, and collaborates with other UC campuses, the UC Office of the President and internal and external auditors regarding IT issues and events.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or similar area and/or equivalent experience/training
Extensive experience with Information Technology, management and communications
Minimum of three years of supervisory and/or managerial experience managing a technical team in an enterprise IT environment
Extensive experience of eight years or more relating to Microsoft and Microsoft365 products in an enterprise environment with a focus on supporting functions such as Microsoft Windows Administration, Microsoft 365 Administration, Email/SMTP Routing/DNS Routing Architecture and Configuration, Active Directory, Intune, Microsoft Azure, OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, OWA, Email Security/Encryption/Legal Holds/Audits, third‑party Anti‑Spam & malware solutions, and Microsoft native spam, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Encryption and other security features
Experience with SharePoint Architecture builds and implementations
Experience with Email Archiving and Retrieval
Knowledge of M365 suite with Windows, iOS and Android Devices and Operating System environments, Cluster replication and redundancy
Knowledge of MS scripting, including PowerShell Application Development
Demonstrated enterprise‑level experience or knowledge with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory, Virtualization platforms (VMware and Citrix)
Demonstrated extensive Project Management experience
Detailed knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other tools in the Microsoft Office Suite
Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and multitask within a dynamic workplace
Creative and strategic thinking in terms of Microsoft Platforms and forecasting changes
Ability to understand and articulate strategic and tactical vision regarding organization’s needs, requirements and execution
Proven ability to see the big picture and capacity to inspire the team and contribute to creative thought
Organized tactical supervisor/manager capable of defining and implementing effective management structures and systems
Ability to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects for assignments
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant professional business and/or technical certifications such as MCSE, M365, PMP, Six Sigma, etc.
Master's degree in computer science or computer engineering field
Experience with Databases, Application Development, Electronic Faxing, and Mass Emailing Systems
