The Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM), Storm Water Quality Division, is recruiting for two (2)
Civil Engineer II
positions located at Kapolei Hale.
Responsibilities
Professional engineering projects related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Storm Water Management Program.
Planning, design, construction management, product evaluation, research & development, system optimization, database management, and Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping.
Participation in periodic and temporary cross training and supplementary work exercises and activities in support of other branches within the division to comply with its regulatory obligations of the City\'s storm water permit.

Education Requirement EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty.
The education requirement must be met at the time of application. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.
Verification Requirement In order to be given credit for your education, clearly list your education credentials on your application. As part of the hiring process, you may be asked to furnish documentation to verify your education to satisfy this education qualification requirement. Experience Requirement One (1) year of non-registered professional civil engineering experience. Such experience shall demonstrate knowledge of:
the principles and practices of general civil engineering;
engineering mathematics;
engineering mechanics and the mechanics of materials;
the principles and practices of topographic surveying; and
structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and sanitary engineering principles and practices to the extent these apply to the general field of civil engineering.
Such experience must also demonstrate the ability to:
do engineering drafting and simple design work;
interpret plans, specifications and land descriptions;
plot survey notes; and
prepare maps, plans, profiles and cross-sections.
Substitution:
A Master\'s degree in Civil Engineering from a regionally-accredited college or university will substitute for the one year of non-registered professional civil engineering experience.
The substitution must be met at the time of application. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States.
