LSU Health New Orleans University Police Department is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Police Lieutenant. The starting rate of pay is dependent upon applicants’ qualifications. There is an additional $2 Premium Pay and a $1 Longevity Pay for hours worked, in addition to the $2.50 Shift Differential Pay. Responsibilities
Patrol campus grounds on foot and/or vehicle to enforce established laws. Answer calls for service. Create policies for operational objectives and support close and effective supervision by ensuring subordinates are in compliance. Inspect and evaluate performance of lower-level officers. Resolve large, complex and serious police problems as well as perform administrative duties. Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience. The maximum substitution allowed is 60 semester hours which substitutes for two years of experience. Necessary Special Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Possession of a current Louisiana driver’s license. Possession of an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification may be required. An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
