Duties and Responsibilities
Instructors teach introductory-level courses in philosophy.
Occasionally teach upper-division courses in the same fields.
Courses available vary from one semester to the next, depending on need and funding.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Philosophy or a related field, with an academic background commensurate with teaching in the discipline.
Demonstrated experience working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues within and outside the department.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Terminal degree in an appropriate field.
Previous teaching experience in similar courses.
Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff diversity.
Desired Candidate Attributes
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate successfully with faculty, staff, and students.
Demonstrated ability to relate to and establish rapport with a college student population.
Exercise good judgment and self-motivation.
Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Strong interest in student success.
Committed to quality teaching.
