An educational organization in Charleston is seeking an experienced candidate for a

Payroll/HR Specialist . The ideal candidate will have several years of payroll processing experience, experience with Paylocity, and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Day-to-day accumulation and organization of payroll related information including entry into the payroll program

Generation of bi-weekly payrolls for up to 380+ permanent and seasonal employees

Assist with organization of HSA funds, FSA funds, and 403(b) funds for each payroll

Assist faculty and staff with payroll related questions to include accounting with payroll reconciliation

Assist with payroll related invoices monthly

Responsible for downloading Quarterly Payroll Reports and W-2’s from payroll program and reconciling with Accounting department.

Assist with distributing W-2’s and 1095-C’s at year end.

Initiate background check portal links to candidates

Assist with launching Paylocity onboarding and United Educators Sex Abuse Prevention Keep track of background checks, UE training, & employee/volunteer status for all auxiliary employees, coaches and substitutes

Manage employee information in payroll and benefit system to include name and address

changes, direct deposit changes and tax withholdings

Reset passwords for self-service portal in Paylocity

Assist with maintaining electronic employee personnel files

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; degree in Accounting or Business is preferred

At least three years of complex payroll experience to include running multiple payrolls and thorough understanding and application of payroll laws and regulations

Administrative human resources experience is preferred

Familiarity with different payroll programs and database systems is preferred

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Compensation and Benefits:

$65,000/yr
