Senior Project Coordinator/Junior Project Manager
About the Role We’re seeking a Senior Project Coordinator to support a growing, high-end construction firm specializing in custom window and door restoration for historic and pre-war buildings. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional ready to step up from coordination into a true project management role.
You’ll oversee multiple concurrent projects, typically 15–20 at a time, ensuring that installations are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively with homeowners, owner representatives, designers, and general contractors, and takes ownership of every stage of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight: Manage multiple residential restoration and replacement projects simultaneously, ranging in value from $10K to $1M.
Client Communication: Serve as the primary liaison for homeowners, designers, owner reps, and GCs; provide regular updates on progress, schedules, and costs.
Field Coordination: Attend site visits and installations regularly; ensure the work aligns with design intent and preserves the architectural integrity of historic structures.
Scheduling & Logistics: Coordinate production timelines, delivery schedules, and installation sequencing in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
Budget & Financial Tracking: Monitor project budgets, manage expenses through Expensify, and assist in client billing and collections when needed.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain organized project files, contracts, change orders, and status updates using Monday.com, Dropbox, and Microsoft 365.
Problem Solving: Identify and address unforeseen site challenges quickly, coordinating with the project director and field teams to resolve issues efficiently.
Process Improvement: Contribute to process refinement and workflow optimization as the company continues its strong growth trajectory.
Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of experience in construction project coordination, assistant project management, or similar field-based roles.
Industry Background: Experience in general contracting, specialty trades, residential renovation, or restoration strongly preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, or related field preferred but not required.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Monday.com (or similar PM software), Microsoft 365, Slack, and Dropbox; comfortable learning new tech tools.
Communication: Strong client-facing skills with the confidence to handle discussions around budgets, collections, and project scope changes.
Language: Spanish bilingual a plus.
What You’ll Gain
Opportunity to work on high-end residential projects that preserve New York’s architectural heritage.
Exposure to custom craftsmanship and historic restoration methods rarely seen in conventional construction.
Direct mentorship from a seasoned Director of Project Management and leadership team passionate about growth and excellence.
Be part of a company that has tripled in size over the last year, offering long-term advancement opportunities.
