What You Will Accomplish
Ensures accuracy of financial data gathered and recorded. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, internal controls and applicable laws. Determines internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation. Banking: Ensure daily banking is completed timely. Review and allocate transactions. Perform monthly reconciliations, ensuring bank and loan statements are downloaded and saved. Accounts Payable: Oversee AP, review Birch Street (BSS) to ensure daily processing, and review unapplied payments monthly to confirm completion by the AP team. Work with AP to review recurring invoices for timely receipt and processing. Accounts Receivable: Assist with billing, AR collections, recording cash receipts in the accounting system, and making bank deposits. Credit Cards: Download credit card transactions, send for allocations, collect receipts, review allocations with the Comptroller before posting, and schedule credit card payments. Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries, post expense reports (Concur), and respond to inquiries. Prepaids, Amortization, and Depreciation: Post prepaids, amortization, and depreciation monthly. Tax Payments: Prepare and coordinate monthly tax payments and reports with taxation authorities. Liaise with the taxation department regarding tax-related matters. Process Improvements: Identify process improvement opportunities and implement policies and procedures accordingly. Reconciliation and Reporting: Prepare monthly reconciliation/analysis of all balance sheet accounts and other expenses as needed. Assist in preparing and distributing monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports. Review revenue reports from all departments. Audits: Audit internal financial controls to ensure compliance with SOPs, including purchasing, cash handling, receipts, disbursements, payroll, and team member records. Mail & Admin: Review and scan mail as needed.
