Overview Hitachi Network Manager – Energy Management System Engineer for a Fortune 200 renewable energy client. Remote position with 25% travel.

Responsibilities

Collaborate across disciplines to determine project priorities and work plans.

Meet corporate objectives with limited project management, scheduling, and estimating resources.

Manage department resources to provide early‑stage project development support.

Ensure projects are efficiently, effectively and safely implemented in accordance with department procedures and policies.

Configure, maintain and troubleshoot Hitachi Network Manager EMS applications and real‑time databases.

Manage SCADA/telemetry integration (RTUs, ICCP links) and ensure data quality for real‑time operations.

Support network model build and maintenance, including topology processing and connectivity validation.

Perform SE/CA/OPF tuning and validation to ensure system reliability and compliance.

Develop and maintain operator displays and PSE (Power System Explorer) visualization tools.

Execute system upgrades, patches, and fail‑over testing in high‑availability environments.

Ensure compliance with NERC CIP and internal cybersecurity standards.

Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

2+ years of experience with EMS platforms (Hitachi Network Manager EMS preferred; GE e‑terra or Siemens Spectrum acceptable).

Strong understanding of power system operations, SCADA, and EMS applications (SE, CA, OPF).

Hands‑on experience with network modeling, telemetry mapping, and database management.

Familiarity with ICCP/TASE.2, RTU protocols (DNP3, IEC 60870‑5), and EMS front‑end processors.

Knowledge of NERC CIP and other cybersecurity practices.

Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation and bulk data management.

Knowledge of process control, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, SCADA and communication schematics.

Experience with automation protocols (Modbus, DNP3, CAN, OPC, EtherNet/IP) and other protocols.

Experience in third‑party firm management, scheduling, planning, and analytical skills.

Strong problem‑solving and stakeholder interface abilities.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment

Ability to lift up to 20 lbs frequently.

Standing for extended periods.

Extensive time at a computer monitor.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle for commuting.

Travel as required.
