Position Overview:
This full-time, on-site role is responsible for leading and managing the IT and Informatics departments within a regional healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest. The successful candidate will oversee projects that enhance network reliability, speed, and serviceability, while ensuring all systems remain secure, HIPAA compliant, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities: Direct operations of IT, telecommunications, and cybersecurity functions. Develop and implement IT programs aligned with strategic goals. Establish policies for procurement, installation, support, and security of network infrastructure and disaster recovery plans. Manage data center activities and maintain advanced data acquisition capabilities. Serve as HIPAA Security Officer, ensuring protection of personal health information. Collaborate with regional health organizations and third-party service providers. Advise senior leadership on IT strategies, projects, and capabilities. Recruit and manage a skilled technical team, optimizing staffing levels. Prepare and oversee the annual IT and Informatics budget. Stay current with healthcare IT trends, educating management on emerging technologies.
Education: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, engineering, or computer science is required. A master's degree is preferred.
Experience: At least five years of experience managing technical functions such as data processing, systems analysis, cybersecurity, defect resolution, strategy development, and project management is essential. Expertise with Epic EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable.
