1. *Coordinates with the Chair of the Asia Collection to develop and implement assessment strategies that inform priorities and focus areas for monographs and serials in the collection, in accordance with established library procedures.
2. *Prepare reports and conduct analyses across multiple formats (print, digital, audiovisual, special formats) to support evidence-based decision-making and collaborative planning.
3. *Develops documented workflows and guidelines for adding, withdrawing, and relocating materials to ensure consistency and alignment with professional standards.
4. *Maintains accurate holdings/items records in ALMA and related systems, applying metadata standards to enhance access and discoverability.
5. *Oversees initial processing of monographs received from South and Southeast Asia, including workflow design, student assistant supervision, and preparation for copy cataloging.
6. *Processes monograph orders, per requests from the department chair for General Asia & Russia in Asia collections.
7. *Coordinates reference scheduling for Asia Collection librarians, managing desk coverage, email rotations, and annual planning.
8. *Provides direct reference assistance at the department's service point, referring users to subject specialists or appropriate departments as scheduled.
9. Maintains clear, regular communication with librarians and staff to ensure high-quality, consistent reference services.
10. Leads outreach activities such as orientations, guided tours, and creation of promotional materials that highlight collection strengths and services.
11. Supports librarians in cultivating partnerships with academic units, cultural organizations, and campus entities.
12. Assists with planning and coordinating seminars, colloquia, and public events in collaboration with Asia-focused centers and programs.
13. *Recruits, hires, supervises, trains, schedules, and evaluates student assistants; manages related budgets and timekeeping records.
14. *Advises the Chair on operational planning, staffing needs, and workflow efficiencies to support departmental goals.
15. Develops internal documentation and provide training on local policies, ensuring clarity and compliance.
16. Contributes to grant preparation, exhibitions, and special projects that enhance visibility and accessibility of the collection.
17. *Provides administrative support, including supply ordering, meeting documentation, and preparation of financial and statistical reports.
18. *Participates in unit planning processes and maintain records of activities.
19. Maintains and updates the Asia Collection's web presence to ensure accuracy in staffing, services, and contact information.
20. Troubleshoots and provides user support for digital tools, instructional platforms, and online services.
21. Facilitates digitization projects and coordinates subject-specific and course-specific LibGuides to support teaching and research of department librarians.

**Denotes Essential Functions Minimum Qualifications
1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Humanities or Social Sciences or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for library services; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
2. Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of library operations & services as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
3. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with supporting library services in a specialized collection.
4. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
