Click here for more information: SLCCMission and Values The Director of Compensation collaborates with Campus leaders to create compensation practices attracting talented individuals for competitive careers at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). This role is central to the People and Workplace Culture (PWC) structure of the College. Administer, design, and analyze multiple College wage and salary programs for all staff and part-time employees through long range strategic planning and the development of policy recommendations, procedures, regulations, and forms to maintain equitable and competitive wage and salary programs. Responsible for developing a compensation philosophy for the college, managing all classification, compensation, salary and pay programs for all staff and part-time positions. Responsible for advising College leadership on a balanced compensation strategy that supports the strategic direction of the College while considering the varying employee groups within the College. Must partner strategically with other leaders across campus and within PWC to ensure that the delivery of a classification and compensation program is synergistic with HR's priority of enabling the institution, employee effectiveness, and other workforce strategies. Provide services and consultation in the areas of organizational and position design; position review and analysis; consultation on departmental pay philosophies and strategies; compensation analysis; and salary adjustment approvals and monitoring. *This position is at will. Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Knowledge in Compensation practices, position classification, compensation analysis, job data analysis, job evaluations, salary surveys, market data review and analysis, and compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws. Skilled in conducting studies and preparing sound recommendations. Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities; ability to work independently and prioritize efficiently with thorough attention to detail. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with management and employees at all levels. Ability to advise clients on applicable state and federal employment regulations, Human Resources and compensation policies, and human resource procedures. Working knowledge of effective personnel management concepts. Ability to manage many projects and activities concurrently. Manage and supervise projects, people, and data. Ability to address difficult situations in a constructive manner. Knowledge of laws and regulations to include compensation, employment, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO). Computer proficient and able to work with databases, HR systems and Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite applications. Detail oriented. Proficiency with analytical and statistical tools and programs related experience in compensation or an equivalent level of education, training, and experience. Advanced spreadsheet proficiency to manipulate, interpret, analyze, and present data. Ability to gauge effectiveness of the college's total rewards program and translate data into solutions to continually improve programs and practices as well as experience supervising and developing engaged team members. Experience working in fast-paced, team-oriented environment with quickly shifting priorities. Demonstrated excellence in communications and strong listening skills. Strong customer service orientation and sense of integrity. Ability to maintain discretion and the highest ethical and professional standards while dealing with confidential and sensitive data. Ability to develop dashboards. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in Compensation practices: compensation programs, job evaluation, market pricing methodology, compensation modeling and advanced analytics, and project management. Tradeoffs considered on a one-to-one basis for education/experience.

Part-time experience may be considered on a prorated basis.

Preferred Qualifications

MBA,MPA, or master's degree in a related field and at least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience managing classification and compensation, or bachelor's degree in a related field and six (6) to ten (10) years of experience in classification and compensation, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory position. Certifications:PHR,SPHR,SHRM-CP,SHRMSCPor Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). Supervisory experience in a higher education HR environment. Experience in public classification and compensation or within a classified compensation structure. Experience presenting classification and compensation training to management groups. Experience in Compensation practices, position classification, compensation analysis, job data analysis, job evaluations, salary surveys, market data review & analysis, and compliance with applicable federal and state employment. Experience performing regression analysis and developing and maintaining compensation models. Ability to develop advanced level data analytics. SLCC Information
