Overview FWI is building a team to support Puerto Rico Department of Housing (PRDOH) Communication Services program for the Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery (CDBG‑DR) and Community Development Block Grant for Mitigation (CDBG‑MIT). The Event & Promotions Manager will own the annual events and promotions calendar, lead end-to-end delivery of press, community, and educational events, and coordinate with municipalities, subrecipients, and agencies across Puerto Rico. Work Schedule and Location This full-time hybrid position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with some onsite work in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Responsibilities
Determine needs, develop and execute accounts or opportunities specific to the client's needs
Gather, validate, and analyze preliminary information via online research, social media platforms, networking, and others to seek optimization opportunities that ladder into client goals
Prepare and present performances to the client with a storytelling focus and strong emphasis on data visualization
Collaborate with Public Relations Manager and team counterparts
Build and manage a plan to identify opportunities and strategies to meet and exceed client goals
Work with Public Relations Manager and support teams to build and execute client projects and collaborate with Marketing and Editorial departments
Keep abreast of the changes and developments in marketing and communications to maintain a deep understanding of the client's needs and maximize the use of resources
Develop reports and data‑driven multimedia strategies and track client activities and projects in real‑time to ensure assistance and improvement in client execution
Research industry related topics, identify gaps in the client's content, write original copy for ads and social platforms, prepare and publish articles that promote the client's needs, and edit and fact check content generated by other departments
Create and oversee reports on content, get knowledgeable with client industry to monitor the metrics related to the content and ensure the same is up to date
Qualifications
Bachelor's in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field
3+ years planning and executing events/promotions; 1+ year supervising staff and managing budgets
Vendor and contracting management, timelines, KPIs, and post‑event reporting
Working knowledge of municipal/state permitting and coordination for events
Leadership, negotiation, brief writing, presenting to executives, problem solving
Valid PR driver's license and ability to travel between sites
Excellent verbal and writing skills in both Spanish and English
