Position Overview We are hiring a part‑time project manager to support an NSF‑funded Masters degree program in Biochemistry and related fields. This is a unique program that provides opportunities for low‑income Masters degree students to gain research experience and find good jobs in the biotech industry, or continue in the PhD program.

Responsibilities

Recruit students throughout North Carolina and its vicinity to the program. This will include, but not be limited to, attending scientific meetings, visiting colleges and universities, and reaching out to various student organizations.

Monitor the progress of students during the two years of their Masters program.

Assist with organizing and teaching a two‑week onboarding program to begin two weeks before fall classes start in August.

Maintain the program website and develop online media to advertise the program.

Other activities include facilitating student interactions through informal meetings, and organizing a seminar series for incoming first‑year students.

Work Schedule Up to 19 hours per week, flexible working hours.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience/Education: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree in biological science (Chemistry, Physics or related field), with a minimum of 2 years of student recruitment or graduate admissions experience.

Experience mentoring college students.

Experience with networking/social media.

Ability to work a flexible work schedule based on program requirements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Organized.

Previous work experience in program organization (preferred).

Valid NC driver’s license.
