Job Overview We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual to join our well‑established supportive transplant team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting patients who require assessment for abdominal transplantation and will meet complex educational and emotional needs, ensuring patients remain supported and well informed throughout the process. Main Duties
Coordinate the transplant pathway, working closely with local, regional and national colleagues.
Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure patients’ needs are fully met and to identify any barriers to transplantation.
Provide patient education, assessing and enhancing patients’ knowledge of transplantation and its impact.
Maintain excellent communication and organisational skills, coordinating all aspects of care and acting as the key point of contact for patients.
Provide 24‑hour, 7‑day on‑call commitment on a rotational basis.
Support flexible working arrangements to benefit patients and staff.
Person Specification Professional registration and advanced specialist knowledge are essential. The role requires strong leadership in planning, delivery, and evaluation of care pathways, along with the ability to train and educate across the organisation.
Qualifications & Education Essential Criteria
Registered Nurse (relevant to branch)
Current NMC registration
Degree or Master’s level study, or equivalent specialist study/experience
Mentorship qualifications, if relevant to role
Desirable Criteria
Master’s Degree
Management experience or qualification
Knowledge & Experience Essential Criteria
Extensive post‑registration experience, including senior level in the required specialist area
Extended clinical practice underpinned by training and assessment
Audit and research experience
Continuous professional development
Knowledge of relevant NHS policy and project‑specific policy context
Understanding and experience of safeguarding for adults and children
Desirable Criteria
Evidence of leading education or training programmes
Skills & Abilities Essential Criteria
Good IT skills
Effective report‑writing skills
Ability to work independently and across disciplines as part of a multidisciplinary team
Effective organisational and time‑management skills
Current driving licence if relevant
Moving and handling patients and objects using appropriate aids
Desirable Criteria
Evidence of leading education or training programmes
