Office of Children's Services (OCS) Department of Family and Community Services, Social Services Associate (SSA) – full‑time, located in Bethel, Alaska.
What You Will Be Doing
Gathering information for assessments, case planning and evaluation.
Providing parenting support during family contacts.
Accessing electronic databases and making referrals for families to other agencies.
Supporting professional staff and enabling families to build healthy, permanent homes.
Requirements & Qualifications
Interpersonal skills with empathy, courtesy and cultural sensitivity.
Customer and quality focus, anticipating and meeting needs.
Adaptability to changing priorities.
Computer skills – use of databases and automated systems.
Teamwork, collaboration and commitment to goals.
Valid Alaska driver’s license; mileage reimbursement available.
Background check and fingerprinting required.
One year post‑secondary education or equivalent experience assisting clients.
Special Notes
Position requires travel to surrounding villages, same‑day and overnight travel as needed.
Eligible for overtime, on‑call, all holidays; weekly travel required.
Potential training and travel to Anchorage for courses.
Probationary period of first 6 months.
