Job Description The Sales Account Executive is a client-facing outside sales role operating within an assigned region of New York and New England. This involves identifying and managing client accounts and business opportunities for Eurofins Built Environment Testing Division. Built Environment is a group of laboratories that provides Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) testing for mold, asbestos, Legionella, and related services.
The Account Executive will travel throughout the region to meet with clients. This individual must be comfortable with cold calling and taking initiative to bring in new business as well as cultivate existing relationships. Knowledge and understanding of the environmental laboratory testing industry is essential, specifically indoor air quality laboratory testing.
Account Executive Responsibilities
Maximize market share, profitability, competitive advantage, and capacity utilization in the environmental analytical services market.
Establish and maintain productive relationships with Eurofins clients.
Provide vision and acquire new accounts to sustain growth of the business by representing Eurofins and clearly communicating Eurofins services to new customers and markets.
Identify opportunities and profitable work by following up on leads, negotiating, and closing.
Serve as a valuable interface between customers and Eurofins, communicating customer needs to the internal organization and acting as a customer advocate.
Meet individual revenue goals and assigned regional targets.
Provide sales plan forecasts for assigned region.
Review credit status of customers prior to submitting bids or proposals.
Monitor accounts receivable status and resolve collection issues.
Develop and recommend strategies to facilitate pricing and bid/no‑bid decisions, establish master service agreements, and provide budgetary information.
Track and close leads to increase revenue.
Update customer databases to identify business opportunities.
Communicate business opportunities, bids, quotes, proposals, and pricing inquiries by entering information into Eurofins Environment Testing database.
Control expenses related to the selling function pursuant to Eurofins Environment Testing policies.
Provide feedback on market conditions to facilitate development of new products and services.
Qualifications
Degree in sciences or related field preferred but not required.
Minimum 2‑3 years of progressively successful sales experience in a service industry.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory, including overnight travel.
Environmental industry knowledge.
Valid driver’s license.
The Ideal Candidate Would Possess
Sales skills in prospecting, interviewing, negotiating, and closing.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience with laboratory functions and terminology.
Analytical and planning abilities.
Self‑directed and capable of working in an unstructured environment.
Writing sales and account plans.
Requirements & Additional Information
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
This position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday. Salary range: minimum $70,000 base plus commission with benefits, PTO, and company matching 401(k) plan. Salary may be higher for candidates with specific sales experience in environmental testing, especially IAQ testing.
