The Project Engineer is a vital part of our team, primarily stationed on-site in a job site trailer or a provided office space. This role involves a wide range of duties to ensure our school and government building projects in Butte and surrounding counties are completed successfully.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
On-site duties:
Opening and closing gates and buildings, managing general site clean-up, and coordinating deliveries to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
Project documentation:
This is a core part of the role. You'll be responsible for redlines/as-builts, tracking and documenting submittals, managing closeouts, and recording daily weather and on-site subcontractors. You'll also use tools like Bluebeam to find information within plans and specifications and Procore.
Communication:
You'll play a key role in the dissemination and communication of project information. This includes being able to make phone calls, follow up on unfulfilled requests, and maintain a professional demeanor when working with team members, subcontractors, and client representatives.
We're looking for someone who is organized, takes initiative, and can drive to job sites as needed.
The Project Engineer's duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Project Documentation & Software:
Maintain comprehensive control of all project documentation.
Utilize software such as
Procore
and
Bluebeam
for document management and plan review.
Demonstrate proficiency in
typing
for accurate and efficient data entry and communication.
Submittals & Closeouts:
Create, track, and manage
RFIs
and
submittals
from subcontractors to the architect/engineer for approval.
Coordinate project
closeout
activities, including the creation and distribution of O&M manuals.
Coordination & Communication:
Apply
general construction knowledge
to assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with project scheduling and progress tracking.
Coordinate special inspections and their documentation.
Document weekly project owner's meetings and create meeting minutes.
Fly drone and capture project footage and progress through-out the project.
Assist the project team with on-site safety documentation and coordination.
On-site Duties:
Apply
general math skills
to assist with material takeoffs and quantity checks.
Assist with the coordination of deliveries and general site cleanup to maintain a clean and organized site.
Perform light duties such as locking and unlocking gates and buildings.
Maintain a professional demeanor when working with team members, subcontractors, and client representatives.
Pre-Construction & Bid Support:
Assist with bidding activities, including
scope definition
and
subcontractor outreach
