The William States Lee College of Engineering at UNC Charlotte is seeking a Director of Assessment and Accreditation. This full‑time 12‑month position provides leadership in ABET and general academic accreditation, assessment, evaluation, reporting and internal research tasks within the College of Engineering. Responsibilities
Oversee the college‑wide continuous improvement process and preparation of reports and self‑studies for ABET and SACS accreditation. Function as the college liaison with the Office of Accreditation and Assessment. Assist departments with self‑assessment and interim reports. Monitor reporting of the Individual Course Assessment Process (ICAP) and reporting by the Focus Area Improvement Teams (FAIT). Participate in Assessment and Improvement Meetings (AIM). Provide updates on progress at College Administrative Committee (CAC) meetings. Provide guidance and assistance for student advising activities in the departments; includes training new advisors and interacting with targeted student populations. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education/Experience
Earned Master’s Degree from an accredited University in Educational Measurement or a related field with 3+ years of experience required, or PhD in Educational Measurement or similar degree field with 2+ years of experience. Demonstrated experience with educational program assessment, and/or third‑party accreditation processes. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience with accreditation, assessment, evaluation, and/or reporting of educational programs and outcomes. Expertise in both quantitative and qualitative approaches to evaluation and assessment. Skills in designing, administering, and analyzing assessment instruments (e.g., rubrics, test blueprints, and alumni surveys), with ability to effectively present data in graphical format. Strong statistical analysis and computing skills including MS Office, database, statistical and survey software, and contemporary digital technology knowledge. Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills and effective verbal and written communication skills with strong initiative and effective organizational and time‑management skills and ability to work independently.
