About the Position:
This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Fort Meade, MD. Duties
Serves as a Cyberspace Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) for mission management. Advises senior leaders on assessments regarding risks, benefits, and tradeoffs of proposed courses of action for the use of Global Resources to meet operational priorities. Contributes to the formation of technical guidance related to the use of Global Resources in support of Cyberspace Operations. Participates in working groups to conceptualize and develop plans and operational orders on the uses of Global Resources in addressing anticipated operational scenarios and parameters. Makes appropriate recommendations to resolve impediments to joint action, including in situations where the parameters of threats require quick action to refine/revise cyberspace plans and leverage Global Resources. Conducts after action analysis to assess and document the extent to which plans and procedures met mission objectives. Contributes to operational improvement processes and mission assessments reports to advance command efforts to refine applications of Global Resources. Requirements
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Three year trial/probationary period may be required. The employee may be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be required to work overtime. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft. The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI clearance as a condition of employment and must complete a counter intelligence scope polygraph exam. This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy 5-1. The incumbent must possess or obtain an Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level II professional certification as a cyberspace professional, consistent with requirements detailed in DoDM 8140.03.
