We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Revenue Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. This role is a unique blend of technical accounting expertise and hands‑on operational execution. The ideal candidate will be a key player in the month‑end close process, ensuring the accuracy of our revenue and deferred revenue balances. You will be responsible for applying technical accounting guidance (specifically ASC 606) to complex customer contracts, while also driving improvements in our day‑to‑day billing and revenue‑related processes. This role requires a proactive and collaborative individual who can work cross‑functionally with our Sales, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure our accounting practices are both compliant and scalable.
Responsibilities
Perform detailed contract reviews to identify and document key revenue recognition considerations in accordance with ASC 606.
Maintain Zuora Revenue.
Prepare and review complex journal entries and account reconciliations related to revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable.
Act as a technical accounting resource for the business, providing guidance on the revenue implications of new products, offerings, and deal structures.
Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reporting disclosures related to revenue.
Support external and internal audits by providing documentation, analysis, and explanations for revenue transactions.
Oversee the day‑to‑day revenue operations, including billing, collections, and deferred revenue schedules.
Collaborate with the Sales and Sales Operations teams to ensure accurate customer data, pricing, and contract terms are reflected in our systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite).
Drive process improvements and automation within the quote‑to‑cash cycle to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between billing and revenue records, working with cross‑functional partners to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Document and maintain process narratives and internal controls related to the revenue cycle to ensure SOX compliance.
Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of new accounting systems or enhancements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue recognition.
CPA certification or actively pursuing is highly preferred.
Experience in a publicly traded company is highly preferred.
Experience in the SaaS or software industry is a significant advantage.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and contracts.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with non‑accounting teams.
Proactive, self‑starter with a strong sense of ownership and a proven track record of meeting critical deadlines.
Must Have
Proficiency in Zuora Revenue is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with specific expertise in ASC 606.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups). Experience with a CRM system like Salesforce is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits The compensation that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $85,600.00 - $107,000.00 base pay. The actual compensation for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
