About The Leasing Consultant Position
Coordinate all activities related to apartment rentals, move‑ins, move‑outs, and lease renewals.
Interact directly with prospective and current residents to achieve maximum occupancy and ensure resident retention and client satisfaction.
Focus on the needs of others by listening, understanding, and showing empathy and respect.
Ensure excellent customer service and promote a quality living experience.
Generate and handle traffic, qualify prospective residents, lease apartments, prepare lease documentation, and complete move‑in paperwork.
Ensure model apartments are in touring condition and orient residents to the property.
Process renewal paperwork and deliver documentation to residents on a monthly basis.
Maintain accurate records of traffic activity and enter information into the computer.
Follow up with all prospective residents via phone, mail, or email.
Convert phone traffic into scheduled appointments for property tours.
Inspect apartments before move‑ins and ensure move‑in condition by coordinating with maintenance.
Create and maintain confidential resident files and review move‑in paperwork with new residents.
Complete weekly leasing reports accurately and timely.
Ensure all open and close procedures are completed daily.
Assist with ongoing resident relations and respond to requests promptly.
Shop for competitive properties.
Inspect buildings and grounds for safety and cleanliness and alert maintenance of needed repairs.
Assist with processing work order requests and ensure timely completion.
Support management with clerical tasks, such as answering phone calls, filing, and processing property invoices.
Assist with planning and implementing resident activities to increase retention.
Comply with all company policies, health and safety rules, and applicable laws.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
High school diploma is required.
Minimum of one year of previous sales experience is preferred.
One year of residential leasing experience is preferred.
Skills And Requirements
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Prior experience with Yardi Voyager or equivalent system.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills with all management levels.
Sensitivity to confidential matters.
Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
Effective relay of technical concerns with adequate detail.
Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Ability to use general office equipment.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to handle difficult situations with anger or dispute.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
Compliance with all safety requirements.
Completion of Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days.
