Job Description
You will lead and supervise a team of maintenance mechanics during shifts, ensuring that equipment maintenance is conducted efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing quarry equipment such as crushers, conveyors, and heavy machinery, while adhering to safety regulations and best practices. You will oversee preventive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime and prolong machinery lifespan, maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
Collaboration with quarry management will be essential to prioritize repair schedules and reduce production interruptions. Additionally, you will train and mentor junior maintenance staff to improve their skills and performance, manage spare parts and tools inventory to ensure availability, and respond promptly to urgent equipment breakdowns to coordinate emergency repairs. Regular inspections of equipment will also be part of your role to identify potential issues before they escalate into significant problems.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Field of Study Preferred: Preferably a technical degree or certification in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field, along with specialized training in quarry equipment and machinery.
Required Work Experience: Minimum 3 years
Travel Requirements: N/A
A strong background in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, particularly those used in quarry operations (e.g., crushers, conveyors, haul trucks, and hydraulic systems).
Experience in leading and supervising a team of mechanics, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and safely while maintaining high work standards.
The ability to quickly identify issues with equipment, diagnose mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic failures, and implement effective solutions.
Knowledge of safety regulations (such as OSHA) and the ability to ensure the team follows proper safety protocols to avoid accidents and injuries.
A detailed-oriented approach to conducting regular inspections and ensuring that equipment is operating efficiently, identifying potential issues before they result in failure.
A track record of implementing and overseeing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of quarry machinery.
Strong ability to communicate with both management and team members to coordinate tasks, report issues, and manage schedules effectively.
The ability to handle unexpected mechanical issues and respond quickly to emergency breakdowns, minimizing production disruptions.
A detailed-oriented approach to conducting regular inspections and ensuring that equipment is operating efficiently, identifying potential issues before they result in failure.
