Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions and concerns promptly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and ensure a high level of guest service during every transaction. Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and customer relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns using the POS system accurately, including bagging merchandise, providing receipts, and upholding top guest service standards. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on company policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Monitor associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training are completed for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety practices, financial protocol, and ethics. Assist in scheduling to meet staffing needs and ensure breaks are taken; supervise staffing to provide optimal guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off and time edits, and verify time worked. Keep store areas clean, organized, and merchandised per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipment. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices; communicate any concerns to the Store Manager. Support sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts and restock merchandise; move products to ensure representation and organization on the floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate discrepancies to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; address hazardous situations and report injuries promptly. Maintain store records/files neatly; keep manuals up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to sales associates and keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including those in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change. Work independently and as part of a team; complete tasks timely. Meet performance expectations related to attendance, appearance, safety, and workplace conduct. Operate the POS system and perform basic mathematics and alphabetizing. Complete required paperwork accurately and follow written or diagrammed instructions. Handle flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum availability 3 days/week. Handle pressure constructively and be a problem solver; reliable and trustworthy with good judgment. Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs; physical requirements as needed for the role. Pay
