Overview
Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 7633) at GameStop. Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. The role develops and promotes a sales culture by creating individualized and complete solutions for guests and providing outstanding guest service experiences through professional conduct and shared passion for gaming. You will be responsible for ensuring products are easy to see and buy, building sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests, providing a clean, organized environment, and growing guest loyalty and repeat business. This position supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities
Provide best‑in‑class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously; assist guests with gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items; apply selling behaviors during every transaction; thank guests for shopping; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using POS; provide receipts and top‑notch guest service. Respond to guest comments/questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop benefits (e.g., reservations program, trade‑in program, Pro Rewards). Assist in setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies and guidelines. Monitor performance, provide feedback, and address issues to align with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback; document performance in Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training are completed prior to shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, and safety practices. Schedule associates, manage breaks and meals, and supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment function properly. Fulfill Omni‑Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as appropriate; report concerns to the Store Manager. Support sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized. Balance and reconcile daily POS totals; manage cash and deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report variances. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing. Maintain safety awareness; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files; ensure manuals are current. Supervise and delegate tasks in absence of Store Manager. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Open/close procedures adherence. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. Retail management experience preferred (6+ months). Retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred (2+ years). Video game knowledge preferred. Key Job Skills And Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized guest assistance. Clear verbal/written communication skills; English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Stay composed under pressure; be a problem solver. Reliable, trustworthy with good judgment.
