Lumos is looking for a full-time

Manager – OSP Construction . If you have experience as a construction leader in telecommunications & FTTH who’s excited for a fast-paced experience and ready to help us grow, we want to hear from you. As a Manager, you’ll power the flawless execution of Outside Plant (OSP) network builds, interfacing with and influencing subcontractor teams, and collaborating with internal Lumos teams to build relationships with local officials and community representatives. Lumos is on a mission to deliver 100% Fiber Optic internet. We joined forces with T-Mobile to create a joint venture that expands reach and capabilities. We currently connect over 475,000 locations across nine states, with growth plans to reach 12–15 million homes by 2030. Essential Functions / Responsibilities

Accomplish assigned market builds safely, on time, and within budget.

Schedule and coordinate maintenance, repair, and upgrade of OSP facilities and related activities, including rehab work, customer & community responses, generator routines, and emergency call-outs.

Delegate responsibilities to direct reports, design builds, track and report progress, and motivate contractor crews.

Influence internal and external teams to ensure progress and on-target performance.

Interface directly with local governments and communities, responding timely and graciously.

Keep internal and external stakeholders informed on build progress.

Provide technical leadership to direct reports and subcontractor teams; establish, standardize, and improve processes.

Coordinate with utilities and pole/aerial teams in alignment with Lumos engineering for planning and execution.

Manage CAPEX, OPEX, and inventory tracking; approve expenses as needed.

Build and maintain a high-performing team: select top candidates, evaluate performance, and identify training opportunities.

Perform other duties as assigned, including cross-functional projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong experience influencing and directing the work of others.

Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to engage respectfully with direct reports, internal teams, external contractors, and community stakeholders.

Solid computer skills and experience with software such as Smart Sheets or similar, MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); Visio and PowerPoint helpful.

Other Experience & Requirements

10+ years’ experience in OSP construction, engineering, or operations fiber builds.

2–5 years’ experience leading technicians and contractors in a fiber build environment.

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Proven project management skills; ability to manage multiple milestones to closure within assigned market.

Proactive, independent, and able to take initiative to stay on task and on target.

Active, unencumbered driver’s license.

Fiber or telecom industry experience is essential.

Physical Requirements

Frequent travel to construction sites; standing, walking, and navigating in all weather.

Near-constant use of sight, speech, hearing, comprehension, and reasoning.
