You will support the Customer Tax Operations practice with the preparation and delivery of tax information reporting (1099/1042-S/8804), FATCA/CRS reporting, tax withholding certificate validation (Forms W-8/9) and related withholding and reporting reconciliations for engagements with banks, wealth and asset management firms and insurance companies.
Participate in day-to-day interactions with team members to provide a quality work product and drive delivery of services to meet deadlines.
Collaborate in a highly consultative environment and communicate with colleagues to support accuracy and consistency in tax reporting.
Assist with reconciliation of customer demographic data, transaction data and tax information returns to achieve complete, accurate, and timely filing of those returns; identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
Support internal and external communications, including obtaining client authorizations and instructions and other material correspondence related to the tax compliance process.
Assist with billing and collections for tax compliance and related services.
Assist engagement team with reconciliation of data to ensure timely production of tax information reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree (Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent degree preferred).
1–2 years of experience.
Proficient in basic computer software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to learn other software applications.
Working knowledge of 1099/1042-S reporting systems and tax compliance and information reporting rules.
Ability to work effectively independently and with a team, handling multiple projects of varying complexity.
Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills; ability to follow standardized processes and ask questions when needed.
Ability to prioritize assignments to achieve workflow and timely production of client deliverables.
willingness to travel periodically (5%–10%).
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience in a professional services environment.
Experience with information reporting and withholding tax laws and concepts for US federal and state returns.
Experience with FATCA/CRS reporting templates and withholding validation.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to adapt work style to collaborate with internal and client teams.
Proficiency with tax software.
