Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend items; apply selling behaviors during every transaction; thank guests for shopping at GameStop; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.

Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.

Process guest purchases/returns accurately using POS; handle changes, receipts, and ensure high-quality guest service.

Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.

Promote GameStop benefits, e.g., reservations, trade-ins, and Pro Rewards.

Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates.

Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed.

Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; input written feedback into the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.

Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics.

Schedule store associates to follow guidelines; supervise staffing for optimum guest service.

Approve payroll and manage time off requests; verify pay for time worked.

Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.

Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily.

Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.

Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties.

Conduct store inventory counts and restock merchandise; organize products on the sales floor.

Balance daily transaction totals in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required.

Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report discrepancies to management.

Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists.

Maintain guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines.

Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date.

Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders when the Store Manager is unavailable.

Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and opening/closing procedures.

Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.

Must be at least 18 years old.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.

At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.

At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.

Video game knowledge preferred.

Remain reliable under pressure and be a problem solver.

Able to work alone; stand/move for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Knowledge of military ranks and insignia may apply for stores on military bases.
