Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 6963) Base pay range: $17.75/hr - $21.75/hr Pay
Base pay range: $17.75/hr - $21.75/hr Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system; handle changes, bag merchandise, provide receipts, and maintain high guest service levels. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-in programs, and Pro Rewards loyalty. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document feedback in the Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Schedule store associates and manage staffing to ensure optimum guest service; approve payroll and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure equipment is in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct package inspections at closing as appropriate; report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; perform required administrative duties. Conduct store inventory counts and restock merchandise; maintain organization and alphabetization on the sales floor. Balance and reconcile daily transactions; manage closeout paperwork and cash deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies and record variances; communicate issues to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files neatly; keep manuals up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all store policies and procedures and opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Out-going and welcoming personality with strong people skills; provide genuine assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team. Meet performance expectations and standards; operate POS system; basic math and organizational skills. Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Remain reliable, trustworthy, and able to work under pressure; be a problem solver. Able to stand and move for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs as needed. Possess or acquire knowledge of military ranks and insignia if located on a military base (where applicable).
