Developmental Math Non-Tenure Track Faculty - Gallatin College (Applicant Pool)
Brief Position Overview: Gallatin College seeks non‑tenure track faculty for Developmental Math. The position number is 4A6792. The appointment type is Non‑Tenure Track (Pooled), with contract terms of Semester, Fall & Spring. Salary is $1,300 per credit. The faculty will teach on the MSU Bozeman Campus in the areas of Basic Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, and a wide range of Algebra courses from Pre‑algebra up to and including College Algebra.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide an active learning environment four to five days per week in a face‑to‑face classroom environment.
Attend weekly coordination meetings.
Maintain a minimum of four office hours per week on the Bozeman campus.
Provide assistance to students in a drop‑in help lab at least one hour per week.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills:
For Developmental Math courses: a bachelor’s degree in the discipline.
For core level coursework (Contemporary Mathematics and College Algebra): Master’s degree required in Mathematics or a related academic field.
Demonstrated experience working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues within and outside the department.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills:
For Developmental Math courses: a master’s degree in the discipline.
Prior teaching experience.
Experience in developmental education.
Understanding of the Two‑year College Mission.
Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff diversity.
The Successful Candidate Will:

Possess effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Have the ability to contribute positively to the academic success of the students and the mission of Gallatin College Montana State University.
Be aware of the needs of at‑risk students both inside and outside of the classroom by constantly monitoring student progress, providing feedback to both students and advisors, as well as connecting students to university resources as appropriate.
Have an appreciation of diverse constituencies and add intellectual diversity to the department.
Position Special Requirements/Additional Information:
The position may be a Union position. Union affiliation is determined by job duties and the collective bargaining unit. Faculty positions more than 0.5 FTE may be eligible for benefits as outlined in the policies of the Montana Two‑Year College Faculty Association (MTYCFA), Montana State University, the Montana University System or the AFMSU Non Tenure Track Collective Bargaining Agreements.
