Position Vacancy Announcement The Agricultural Assistant position is part of the Industrial Hemp Program, in the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences at FAMU. This position is responsible for performing miscellaneous general farm labor and greenhouse work. Work location: FAMU Research and Extension Center (REC), 4259 Bainbridge Highway, Quincy, FL.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all safety rules as instructed by supervisors. All farm work operations must meet the standards and specifications given by the employer.

Use care when performing farm duties to avoid damaging or killing plants.

Carry trays of transplants and plant them individually in the prepared planting bed by bending down.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 65 pounds for long periods of time outdoors in all weather conditions.

Adherence to quality standard operating procedures and the ability to work quickly and consistently with a team-based attitude and consideration for safety.

Allergies to industrial hemp, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect the ability to perform the job.

Availability for the entire period requested by the employer is mandatory. The employer reserves the right to discharge an unqualified, malingerer, or recalcitrant worker who is unwilling to perform the necessary work for premium quality product growth.
