Job Location & Compensation Position: Flex Security Officer – Indianapolis, IN

Schedule: All shifts and days are available; all qualifying candidates eligible for a 401(k) with employer match (up to 8%) if working at least 20 hours per week and 500 hours per year. Starting pay: $18.50/hr, paid weekly.

Requirements

Reliable transportation

Preferred: 1 year of security, military, or law enforcement experience

Excellent customer service skills

Willing to work holidays, weekends, and all weather conditions

Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods

Exceptional report writing skills

Ability to mentally analyze situations, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure

Ability to work independently

Strong written communication skills

Flex Officer Explanation The Flex Officer provides trained, competent support by covering shifts that become open due to illness, call‑offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This flexibility enables Sunstates to deliver uninterrupted service while protecting employee health and work‑life balance.

Scheduling Expectations

Trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need; assignments are temporary.

Shifts, days off, and hours per week vary with operational need.

Accepted shifts are offered as they become available; some are scheduled in advance, others on short notice.

For short‑notice call‑ins, expected to work at least 80% of requested shifts; refusing more than 20% may negatively impact employment status.

Must communicate any unavailability to supervisors.

Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent.
