The MNIT DHS team supports complex and varied technical needs, including systems that provide health care coverage, deliver child protection and welfare services, and provide support for Minnesotans with special needs including mental illness, chemical dependencies, and physical or developmental disabilities.
The Product Management Coach serves as a trusted advisor and strategic leader with MNIT partnering with the Department of Human Services (DHS), guiding teams in advancing product management and Agile practices that improve how technology solutions are planned and delivered across the enterprise. In this role, you will mentor teams and leaders at all levels to strengthen product strategy, collaboration, and customer‑focused delivery. You’ll foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by helping teams align their work with organizational goals, measure success through meaningful outcomes, and adopt data‑driven decision‑making. Operating with broad influence and visibility, this position plays a key role in shaping how MNIT and DHS deliver value through modern, efficient, and user‑centered technology services.
Minimum 50% onsite at 540 Cedar Street, St. Paul, Minnesota with some telework opportunity. Telework is limited and requires meeting eligibility requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years of experience in information technology, including experience leading or supporting the adoption of Agile, product management, or digital transformation practices to enhance product delivery and business outcomes.
Providing guidance, mentoring, and consultation tailored to technical, business, and cross‑functional audiences to improve delivery effectiveness and product outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate organizational change, process improvement, or leadership development.
Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business areas.
Experience driving alignment between IT strategy, business goals, and customer outcomes.
Strong customer service skills, including active listening, empathy, and effective problem‑solving.
A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coaching or leading enterprise Agile, product management, or digital transformation initiatives.
Demonstrated knowledge of Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or LeSS) and product management methodologies.
Experience developing or implementing strategic frameworks, product roadmaps, or outcome‑based metrics to guide organizational priorities.
Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC), or Certified Product Manager (CPM).
Experience influencing executive and senior leadership on technology or product strategy decisions.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify and implement process improvements across teams or programs.
Proven ability to communicate complex concepts and build consensus among diverse stakeholders and leadership groups.
