Job Description CMTA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with eight or more years of experience in consulting engineering. This candidate must have a strong and innovative technical background in Electrical Engineering. The role involves working with a team of engineers and other consultants/design team members to design the electrical aspects of energy‑efficient buildings for various clients and complex infrastructure projects.
In this role you will serve as an Electrical Engineer with design and production responsibilities, a Project Manager with internal and external team responsibilities, a Client Champion by providing excellent, responsive service, and an Employee Advocate by collaborating, teaching, training and mentoring staff while promoting our Core Values.
The position is responsible for designing and overseeing the electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm system, and low‑voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control) for bidding and construction of various projects.
Office Location Golden, CO (approximately 30 minutes west of Denver).
Desired Experience
8+ years of experience with MEP design
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
PE registration (required)
Experience with internal and external project management
Experience in MEP design and specifications
Experience managing, maintaining and creating owner and architect relationships
Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K‑12 and Commercial market sectors
Experience with Revit/AutoCAD
Responsibilities
Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractors.
Provide guidance, support, mentorship, and leadership to staff engineers.
Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors; lead and guide meetings as needed.
Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
Collaborate with other engineers and personnel to meet project deadlines.
Apply knowledge of engineering principles, research, and design to evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
Research and analyze clients’ design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.
