Human Resources Generalist City of New Ulm is currently accepting applications for the position of Human Resources Generalist. The Human Resources Generalist performs a variety of professional and administrative duties in support of the Human Resources Department. Responsibilities include recruitment and selection, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, safety and wellness coordination, records management, and policy compliance. This position also assists with labor relations, training programs, and other HR projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and experience working in a fast‑paced environment with multiple priorities. This position works closely with employees, supervisors, and the public, providing excellent customer service and support for all HR functions.

Minimum qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, business, or a related field. At least three years of HR experience, preferably in recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and/or public sector HR. A valid driver’s license.

Preferred qualifications SHRM‑CP, PHR, or related certification. Experience working in local government or a union environment.

Pay Range Starting pay range: $34.56 – $37.55 per hour, with a full range up to $44.36, depending on qualifications.
