Freight Claims Analyst – CSX

Join CSX in Jacksonville, FL to manage freight claim handling in compliance with SOX, rail carrier liability rules, and transportation contracts. The role requires analytical skills and coordination with billing, collections, and customer service teams.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

Investigate assigned claims under rail carrier liability rules and applicable contracts.

Gather and analyze facts to determine appropriate settlements.

Process claim review and settlements in the Channel Revenue Management system and upload supporting documents.

Provide updates and documentation to validate claim resolution decisions via third‑party vendor sites.

Promptly review and resolve claim disputes and reconsiderations.

Issue third‑party contractor bills, prepare electronic packets to support billing and collections.

Handle the entire billing process from creation to final collection.

Investigate and resolve recharged claims from foreign line carriers and communicate liability issues to sales and marketing managers.

Perform miscellaneous activities as assigned by the manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (4‑year degree).

1+ year experience in business/strategic management, sales/account management, marketing, accounting, finance, transportation, logistics, supply chain, operations or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (4‑year degree).

3+ years experience managing claims or investigative work.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of liability provisions of transportation contracts and related coverage laws.

Knowledge of freight liability.

Oracle web‑based fluency and BOBJ reports.

INFOPAC knowledge.

Legacy system knowledge.

Advanced investigation techniques and familiarity with liability provisions.

Ability to maintain daily/weekly production quota levels accurately.

Work under pressure while handling multiple responsibilities.

Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and ability to meet short deadlines.

Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
