Open Rank Faculty – Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Counseling Professions is a full‑time, 12‑month position focused on educating future mental health practitioners specializing in the rehabilitation of serious mental illness. Applicants may be Ph.D. or ABD candidates in Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Counselor Education and Supervision, or related doctoral disciplines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a primary instructor for undergraduate psychiatric rehabilitation students and contribute to rehabilitation counseling education.
Develop curriculum and course materials for on‑campus and web‑based courses.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement funding proposals supporting the department’s educational and research agenda.
Maintain a scholarly agenda producing presentations and peer‑reviewed publications.
Participate in professional associations, community service and university service activities.
Adhere to UMDNJ legacy compliance standards, corporate policy, and conflict of interest policy.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Counselor Education and Supervision, or related doctoral level degree; ABD candidates considered.
Higher education teaching experience (e.g., graduate assistant activities, guest lectures) or significant training experience with mental health practitioners.
Demonstrated knowledge and skill in providing mental health services to individuals with serious mental illness.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant clinical credentials (LPC, LAC, CPRP, LSW, LCSW).
Evidence of scholarly productivity.
