Description of Work Unit Through innovative academic, research, and outreach programs, CSU’s College of Health and Human Sciences is ensuring that people don’t just survive, but thrive, implementing evidence‑based programs where students learn to directly improve the health, education, and well‑being of people, their environments, and communities.

Position Summary A vital member of the College of Health and Human Sciences communications and marketing team, the Production Manager is a skilled communicator and project manager with a passion for omnichannel communications and collaborative storytelling. The Production Manager will oversee the team’s project and task tracking system, conduct project intake and assignment, manage project schedules and communication about project progress, and communicate with key collaborators to ensure on‑time, on‑brand delivery. The successful candidate will have excellent project management, collaboration, writing, and editing skills. This position reports to the Director of Communications.

Required Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, English, journalism, or related field.

Minimum of two years professional experience.

Demonstrated project management experience with exceptional organizational and analytical skills, culminating in on‑time delivery and meeting or exceeding scope expectations.

Preferred Job Qualifications

Experience in communications field developing and implementing strategic communication efforts.

Experience in higher education.

Strong written communication skills with some science‑writing experience.

Strong editing skills and understanding of AP writing style and brand standards.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.

Ability to work independently or with teams to brainstorm, create, and implement multiple creative projects simultaneously.

Experience with websites and content management systems such as WordPress.

Demonstrated client relations, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Essential Duties Strategic Communications Project Coordination (50%)

Serve as member of the communications team responsible for college and academic unit communications.

Act as primary point of contact for academic unit faculty and staff regarding communications projects.

Act as primary project manager, delegating projects to team members.

Manage project schedules and expectations with requesters and team members.

Attend key college and unit meetings and events and collaborate effectively with the team.

Support consistent written and visual messaging from all departments.

Advance CSU’s Land‑Grant mission through authentic communication materials.

Content Creation and Distribution (40%)

Collaborate with college communicators and academic unit faculty, staff, and students to create and distribute compelling multimedia stories.

Research and develop news stories and feature articles for inclusion in the College’s publications.

Develop college communication messaging and materials appropriate for target audiences.

Audience Engagement and Analytics (10%)

Evaluate CHHS communications, branding, and marketing efforts.

Measure effectiveness of communications including email clicks, web analytics, and social media engagement.

Follow industry best practices and CSU trends to engage primary audiences via appropriate platforms.
