Because this position is in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not by McDonald’s USA, the franchisee will be your employer. The franchisee is responsible for all employment matters, including hiring, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald’s USA has no control over employment decisions for this location.
General Manager Responsibilities The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and ensuring the restaurant meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. The GM works with their leader to set restaurant goals and creates a plan to achieve them. The GM leads a team of Department Managers, helping them set their own goals, follow up on progress, and providing coaching and direction to improve their departments. By improving the departments, the restaurant improves. The GM may also be responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has the right team to lead into the future.
Candidate Qualifications Ideal candidates should have previous General Manager experience running high volume locations. A background in quick‑service restaurants is strongly desired, or experience in hospitality or retail. Candidates must be 18 years or older.
