The
Senior Business Systems Analyst
supports complex IT and insurance operations, applying broad business and technical knowledge to achieve project goals. This role facilitates requirements elaboration, conducts gap analyses, and collaborates on system design to optimize productivity and reduce costs across business units.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a liaison between business units and IT to identify process improvements and coordinate system design, testing, and implementation for complex projects. Ensure proper planning and execution of requirements activities. Foster effective relationships between Business Units and Systems teams. Work collaboratively with peer analysts on projects and cross-functional initiatives. Understand the overall business vision while translating specific requirements into system needs. Facilitate requirements interviews and stakeholder workshops. Document and analyze user requirements to create accurate system specifications. Define and document data requirements for integration and conversion projects. Collaborate with IT disciplines to ensure alignment between requirements, design, and testing. Review test plans, coordinate user testing, and support smoke testing activities. Contribute to training materials and system documentation as needed. Required Experience
5 - 7+ years
of data and systems-based analysis experience. Proven track record working on large, complex IT projects. Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) or equivalent experience. Strong communication and documentation skills. Nice-to-Have Experience
Exposure to
Group and/or Voluntary Insurance
products. Familiarity with the
Annuity life cycle . Experience with requirements modeling (methods like RUP or UML use cases). Required Skills
SQL (querying and data analysis) Business requirements documentation Data mapping and integration analysis Preferred Skills
UML / Use Case Modeling MS Visio, Word, Excel Systems design and gap analysis Communication & stakeholder management Insurance domain knowledge Additional Skills
