Description Of Work Salary Range: $37,782 - $66,120
Responsibilities
Conducting shift line‑up, making shift assignments and inspecting personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post.
Completing, reviewing, and maintaining time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations and administrative forms.
Accounting for persons and ensuring that all assigned equipment is operationally ready.
Rotating and assigning various duties within the defined level of work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Management Preferences
Knowledge of Facility Operations.
Knowledge of Prisons’ Policy and Procedures.
Necessary Special Qualifications Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training and Standards Commission.
This is a full‑time position working rotating shifts with State Benefits.
Note to Current State Employees The salary grade for this position is NC08. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
About Richmond Correctional Institution Richmond Correctional Institution is located in Hoffman, North Carolina and houses up to 420 male offenders in a medium custody facility.
Minimum Education and Experience High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years six months of experience as a Correctional Officer Or Two years of experience as Correctional Officer II Or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
