Field Service Engineer II – Pathology Imaging – Chicago, IL Are you ready to accelerate your potential and make a real difference within life sciences, diagnostics and biotechnology? Position Overview As a Field Service Engineer II, you will support customers across the Western U.S., fully remote from Chicago, IL. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and service repair of Pathology Imaging instruments.

Provide installation support, maintenance, modification, and repair for mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, and refrigeration instruments, including handling on‑site customer escalations.

Document and complete service administration activities in compliance with ISO, FDA, and Leica policies.

Actively support the sale of service contracts, aid sales teams with system configurations/upgrades, and provide feedback to improve financial performance and generate service revenue.

Essential Requirements

Associate’s degree with 3+ years of technical experience OR Bachelor’s of Science in a related field OR equivalent military experience (applicable military experience considered on a case‑by‑case basis).

Travel, Vehicle Record & Physical Requirements

Travel up to 90% domestically, frequent overnight trips across the Western U.S. with short lead times.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record to meet fleet requirements.

Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50 lbs and meet all other physical requirements.

Preferred Experience

Diagnosing and repairing medical devices, electromechanical equipment, or scientific instruments.

Field Service Engineering background.

Networking/IT system upgrades.

The hourly range for this role is $36.00‑$46.00, with additional eligibility for bonus/incentive pay. Comprehensive benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan for eligible employees.
