Senior Executive Recruiter at LHH (FKA Parker+Lynch)
LHH is supporting an AmLaw 100 law firm in search of a Controller to play a pivotal role in shaping the finance function of a dynamic and sophisticated global organization. This position offers the opportunity to optimize financial operations, partner with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives, and lead a high‑performing accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in professional services finance and a passion for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Direct the full spectrum of accounting operations, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, treasury, and client trust accounts.
Establish and maintain robust internal controls and segregation of duties to safeguard financial integrity.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Lead the preparation of financial statements and management reports, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning; maintain banking relationships and credit facilities.
Supervise expense management systems and vendor payment processes for efficiency and compliance.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including technology upgrades and process automation within the finance function.
Coordinate external audits and regulatory reviews, ensuring adherence to all applicable standards.
Benchmark financial practices against industry standards and implement best‑in‑class solutions.
Mentor and develop accounting team members, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA designation strongly preferred.
Minimum 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role within a professional services environment (law firm experience highly desirable).
Proven expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance for complex organizations.
Advanced proficiency in accounting systems (Elite Enterprise/3E or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated success in managing financial system implementations or upgrades.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior executives and cross‑functional teams.
Track record of driving operational improvements and leveraging technology for efficiency.
