A prominent Orthodox Jewish synagogue in Manhattan is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide office support and direct support as needed to Senior Leaders. This individual will manage a variety of administrative responsibilities with an emphasis on correspondence, scheduling, and day‑to‑day coordination.
Role: Administrative Assistant
Full‑Time | On‑Site in Manhattan | Temp‑to‑Perm
Compensation: $22–30/hour during the temp period, with a conversion to ~$60,000–70,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily administrative and executive support, including drafting and typing dictated correspondence and documents.
- Manage and maintain a complex calendar, coordinating appointments, meetings, and community events.
- Serve as a professional and discreet point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, including synagogue members and partner organizations.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files, including confidential records and personal documents.
- Assist with personal administrative tasks and projects as needed.
- Coordinate and record minutes at staff meetings.
- Support internal and external communications, including synagogue updates and digital announcements.
- Process vacation requests and maintain staff records.
- Liaise with media and community outlets regarding advertising and promotional opportunities.
- Prepare and submit documents through electronic portals as required.
- Draft and distribute group communications, including newsletters, mass emails, and event reminders.
- Collaborate with colleagues on synagogue events, programs, and special projects.
- Knowledge of Mailchimp and social media management is a big plus!
