Human Resources Assistant – Tygart Valley Regional Jail, Barbour County
Under close supervision, this position assists the Human Resources Associate in completing, processing, and maintaining all HR forms, reports, and files related to recruitment, employee relations, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, personnel records, employment, and classification. Staff will utilize state operating systems such as Kronos, NeoGov, and OASIS.
Assist new and current employees with understanding HR processes and completing required forms for all HR and payroll‑related issues. Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years of full‑time or part‑time equivalent paid clerical experience, with at least one (1) year in a support or paraprofessional role in human resources, payroll, bookkeeping or accounting.
Substitution: Education can substitute for required experience at the rate of one (1) year of experience for every thirty (30) semester hours of education.
A valid driver’s license may be required.
A valid driver’s license may be required. If you need to verify post‑high school education, submit an official transcript or diploma before the closing date of the posting. Veterans preference must be supported by the appropriate documentation.
