Overview
STUDENT SUCCESS COACH - CONTRACT - NONBENEFITTED
York County Community College (YCCC) is seeking a Student Success Coach to join the Student Experience team. This is a part-time (30 hours per week), contract, non-benefited position through June 30, 2026, with no guarantee of continued employment beyond that date. The position is in-person on the Wells campus and pays $28.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
Provide proactive, student-centered advising to a caseload of students from onboarding through graduation.
Develop and implement student retention initiatives that support persistence and completion.
Collaborate with admissions, financial aid, faculty, and staff to ensure seamless student support.
Conduct regular outreach to at-risk students, using data and case management strategies to promote success.
Support the development and facilitation of academic learning communities and student success programming.
Maintain accurate advising records and utilize the student information system to track progress and ensure data integrity.
Connect students with campus and community resources as appropriate.
Participate in Student Experience events and contribute to ongoing assessment and continuous improvement efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Two years of experience in higher education, or relevant experience
Knowledge of and experience in student advising and/or admissions
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree
Four years of recent experience in community college admissions and/or student advising
Knowledge of best practices in academic learning communities
Excellent writing and presentation skills
Experience in program management
Other Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Two to four years of related experience, preferably in a community college setting
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, group facilitation and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of and proven experience with educational environments, school and college cultures, and adult education
Proven program management ability and experience
Sales management and/or marketing experience
Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite, electronic communications and social media; ideally includes Anthology. Ability to work effectively with data and ensure its integrity
