The hourly wage ranges from $17.00 to $25.00 per hour.

This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers who want to fast‑track into a Store Management position. A minimum of one year of retail management experience is required.

Position Summary We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with at least six months of store management experience. The trainee will be responsible for day‑to‑day operations, promote a positive environment, partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop employees, recruit and retain talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations. The role also involves analyzing financial statements and ensuring asset protection.

Responsibilities Of a Store Management Trainee

Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly, professional manner and addressing customer issues rapidly.

Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet company standards.

Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.

Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise and ensuring all procedures are followed to protect assets.

Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.

Administer store processes: inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.

Evaluate the store’s financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal‑setting.

Maintain operating standards that meet or exceed FirstCash standards.

Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.

Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development as requested.

Communicate clearly with employees to ensure they understand the store’s mission and profit objectives.

Remain up‑to‑date on product knowledge.

The assistant store manager acts as manager on duty when the Store Manager is absent.

Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.

Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting).

Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.

Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.

May be asked to assist a customer on the exterior of the building or retrieve products from exterior storage areas.

Minimum age: 18 years old.

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

Must be able to work at multiple locations as business needs dictate.

Must be able to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Store Manager Trainee will work 45+ hours per week; hours are not guaranteed.

Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and office equipment.

Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.

Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.

Analytical skills.

Cash handling experience is required.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.

Commission Plan Information The commission incentive plan is proprietary to FirstCash. Store Manager Trainees can earn 2‑8% commission based on their gross profit. Details are provided during the interview process.
