General Purpose The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership who is responsible for a specific area of the Store and for overseeing general operations when serving as Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening and closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining merchandising standards, and ensuring a safe, clean, and customer‑friendly environment.
Essential Functions
Maintain safe & secure environments: practice safe behaviors, monitor sales floor, report unsafe conditions, secure building and perimeter, manage electronic surveillance, conduct fire alarm tests, and respond to alarms.
Deliver outstanding customer service: treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrate courtesy, professionalism, and recognize associates.
Maintain the store brand: uphold dress code, ensure all areas are clean, present, and merchandised; manage trash removal and stockroom organization.
Perform general merchandising duties: oversee markdowns, receiving, processing merchandise, back‑stock management, floor moves, and promotional sign‑ups.
Conduct loss prevention activities: conduct package inspections, maintain PVM, safeguard confidential information, and apply company best practices to minimize loss.
Supervise front‑end operations: train associates on cash registers, shortage control, and front‑end procedures; manage break schedules, equipment, and supplies.
Oversee fitting rooms: maintain cleanliness, audit garment tags, and ensure compliance.
Execute administrative duties assigned by Store Manager: cash pulls, bank deposits, front‑end control, payroll administration, and other duties.
Develop and coach associates: build talent, collaborate, lead by example, and communicate effectively.

Excellent verbal communication skills.
Fluency in English.
Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
Basic mathematical calculations for retail.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements / ADA Ability to use all store equipment, stand, walk, and move for 100% of working time; bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, stoop; occasionally lift > 25 lb; use janitorial equipment and ladders. Stockroom associates must be able to lift > 20 lb.

Compensation andh3> Base pay range: $16.75 – $17.25 per hour. Total compensation includes additional rewards such as incentive pay, bonuses, and recognition programs.
