General Purpose The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership team responsible for a specific assigned area of the store and for supervising general operations when serving as Manager on Duty. This role includes opening and closing the store, supervising associates, ensuring merchandise presentation, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and executing company operational processes.
Essential Functions
Maintain a safe and secure environment, including security of building, EAS device checks, cash office security, and emergency procedures.
Provide customer service and treat all customers and associates with respect and professionalism.
Represent and support the company brand, enforce dress code, keep all areas clean and merchandised, and manage daily trash removal.
Oversee general merchandising: handling returns, receiving merchandise, processing goods, organizing stockrooms, and maintaining floor and back‑stock presentation.
Execute loss prevention duties, maintain PVM system, conduct inspections, and protect confidential and monetary information.
Supervise front‑end operations: train associates on registers, manage sales line, control break schedules, maintain equipment, and ensure merchandising compliance.
Maintain fitting rooms: cleanliness, tag auditing, and go‑back compliance.
Perform administrative duties as assigned by Store Manager, including cash pulls, deposit procedures, payroll administration, scheduling compliance, and reporting.

Qualifications and Special Skills
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Fluency in English.
Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Availability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements / ADA
Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
Stand, walk, and move around 100% of working time.
Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 lbs.

Compensation The base pay range for this role is $18.00 - $18.50 per hour, dependent on experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, and location. This range is one component of total compensation, which may include other rewards and benefits.
