Location: 8350 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34243, US. Salary: $42,000.

Responsibilities

Assist students in a positive, dynamic manner: answer phone calls, direct calls to appropriate departments, communicate information on academic programs, schedule student appointments, initiate and respond to student questions, inform students on university policies, resolve student issues when feasible, and maintain a manual for instruction and reference.

Provide support for reports and data entry for student record/activity logs, preparation and processing of academic forms, scanning and indexing documents in the document imaging system to be uploaded to student records, coordinating and conducting student outreach, and communicating with students regarding academic programs and course selection.

Perform specialized administrative duties required to support Student Services and its comprising departments, using discretion to make judgment calls based on operating guidelines; assist Student Records and Registration with processing transient student information, unofficial and official transcript requests, enrollment certification, independent study contracts, and senior audit packets.

Work in partnership with the institution and Student Services staff to meet department and university missions and goals: contribute to campus-wide committees, assist USFSM Students with Disability Services by proctoring exams, distribute correspondence and information to appropriate persons in the department, monitor campus mobile radio system, closed circuit video surveillance, and play an active role in campus emergency drills and operations.

Provide additional support for USFSM Disability Services by proctoring exams and helping students with disabilities familiarize themselves with the facilities at USFSM-NP; provide additional support for USFSM Student Affairs by serving as the liaison between SGA and North Port site, and assisting SGA with Week-of-Welcome.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, with four years of experience in office or administrative positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Experience working in an educational setting.

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.

SB 1310 – The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.

(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;

(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;

(c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;

(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or

(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.

Minimum qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
